I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

The genesis of the phrase surfing the net has always mystified me. I wondered what surfing the net and the sport of surfing have in common. In case you're also curious, here are two accounts:
- CERFnet is one of the first Internet service providers. (The company wanted to use the name SURFnet, but a group in the Netherlands already had it.) In October 1991, the company launched a comic book series, The Adventures of Captain Internet and CERF Boy. It depicted Captain Internet (a Wonder Woman-like superhero-type character) and her sidekick, CERF boy. Their adventures were titled “One If by LAN, two if by C,” “The LAN that Time Forgot,” “Raiders of the Lost ARP,” and other computer-ese titles. (Check out
