2.2.1 Staple Fiber Yarns
Staple ber yarns can be manufactured in short-staple and long-staple
spinning systems. In natural ber spinning system, ber bale is opened,
cleaned, and converted to sliver form. The sliver is then drafted and twisted
into roving and subsequently into yarn form. The object of spinning and
of the processes that precede it is to transform the single bers into a cohe-
