Continuous bers are used for lament winding, pultrusion, braiding, weav-
ing, and prepregging applications. Continuous bers are used with most
thermoset and thermoplastic resin systems. Chopped bers are used for
making injection molding and compression molding compounds. Chopped
bers are made by cutting the continuous bers. In spray-up and other pro-
cesses, continuous bers are used but are chopped by machine into small
