yarn guide; as the hose passes through at a controlled rate, ideally with suf-
cient individual yarns or wires being laid together so that the angle of wrap,
giving complete cover of the yarns, equals the neutral angle (Figure 6.7).
Spiraling is carried out horizontally with two opposing decks revolving
in opposite directions each holding clusters of yarn spindles. Each strand of
yarn is fed through an array of tensioning devices to the center point of the
decks where they are applied to the tube in a parallel array
