WeChat, known in Chinese as Weixin (微信), started as a mobile instant messaging application, but has grown to include features such as Moments, official accounts, and WeChat Pay. WeChat is the most widely used application in China. For the sake of clarity, the word WeChat in this book refers to the Chinese version of the app by its English name, not to the international version, which is different from the Chinese one.
