しかしながら、ここまでだと、OSのインストールされた空のインスタ
ンスが作成された状態に過ぎません。例えばWebサーバーにするのであ
れば、Apacheのインストールやコンテンツファイルのアップロードなど
が必要です。作成したインスタンスに接続してそれらの作業を進めない
と、Webサーバーにはなりません。そのためには、インスタンスに接続し
てインストールなどができるようにする必要がありますが、事前にイメー
ジしておきたいのが図3-25の①と②の手順です。
接続までに必要な作業の例
前節でSSH接続用のキーファイルを作成することを解説しました。イ
ンスタンスに最初に接続する際には、次の作業が必要となります。

SSHクライアントはキーファイル（キーペア）を変換して鍵として持つ

E C 2コンソールで接続する端末のIPアドレスを登録して、上記の鍵で認
証を受けて（特定の端末かつ鍵を持っている）、セキュリティグループに
上記の情報を設定するとともに、PC側にSSHクライアントをインストー
ルしてインスタンス名などの情報を登録して接続できるようにする
インスタンスへの最初の接続やそのための準備は2 つの関門よりも手間
自体はかかります。ここでもそのためのユーザーガイドに目を通す必要が
ありますが、安全な接続の実現には相応の苦労が必要です（図3-26）。
ここまでできると、やっとインスタンスの作成が完了します。
