I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Pre-recording checklist
Get into the habit of carrying out a routine check before each recording. All of the following checks may not be necessary on each shot and you may prefer to carry out your review in a different order.

If the camera is mounted on a tripod, check the camera pan/tilt head is level and the required friction adjusted. Check the condition of the front element of the lens. |

Switch power on and check state of battery charge and humidity warning indicator. |

Check if there is a tape cassette loaded and if the tape is unused, record 30 seconds of bars. |

Select colour correction filter according to colour temperature of light source. |

Check and set the time code to the editing mode required. |
