Black balance
Black balance sets the black levels of the R, G and B channels so that black has no colourcast. It is normally only required:
• |
when the camera is first used or if the camera has not been in use for some time |
• |
if the camera has been moved between radically different temperatures or the surrounding temperature has significantly altered |
• |
on DVW-700 cameras when the gain selector values are altered. |
First, white balance to equalize the gains and then black balance; then white balance again. In automatic black balance (e.g. on the DVW-700), the black balance is adjusted after the black set is adjusted.
