Adjusting exposure
There are various methods of adjusting exposure:
• |
using the zebra exposure indicator in the viewfinder (see page 76); |
• |
manually adjusting the iris setting whilst looking at the viewfinder picture; |
• |
using the auto-iris exposure circuit built into the camera. |
Many cameramen use a combination of all three and some cameramen use a light meter.
Manual adjustment
The simplest method is to look at the viewfinder picture (make certain that it is correctly set up – see Viewfinder, page 60) and turn the iris ring on the lens to a larger f-number (this reduces the amount of light reaching the CCDs) if the brightest parts of the scene have no detail in them or to a smaller f-number (increasing the amount of light reaching ...
