It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Introduction
This is the third edition of Basic Betacam Camerawork and it has been extensively revised to accommodate the continuing changes in broadcast technology. It describes analogue and digital beta format camerawork. Other digital formats are covered in my book Digital Video Camerawork (Focal Press, 2000).
Despite the drift from analogue to digital, linear tape editing to non-linear storage, single portable camera operations remain a mixture of TV and film technique. The material acquired by a portable camera/recorder can be edited or it can be used live via satellite or terrestrial links.
