Introduction

This chapter explores emotional intelligence as a key element of our conscious leadership model. Throughout this chapter, we define emotional intelligence (EI) with added emphasis upon defining emotional regulation (ER) and explain in detail its relationship with successful conscious leadership outcomes. We initially review some important research findings to establish a conceptual base for understanding EI.
