Based on the substantial body of available storage industry market information, it’s easy to conclude that most (not all) business units are unaware of the expenses associated with storage. Single tier is the prevalent option, and because of that, rolling up actual storage costs and assigning those costs to various business units was not a gainful use of time or energy.
