I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
The Registry
What is the Registry? It is a repository of all the information on a Windows system. When you install a new program, its configuration settings are stored in the Registry. When you change the desktop background, that is also stored in the Registry.
According to a Microsoft TechNet article,2
The Microsoft Computer Dictionary, Fifth Edition, defines the Registry as: A central hierarchical database used in Windows 98, Windows CE, Windows NT, and Windows 2000 used to store information that is necessary to configure the system for one or more users, applications, and hardware devices.
