The recovery plan consists of two parts. The ultimate goal is a complete recovery, and this is outlined in the disaster recovery plan. But unless that DRP is going to get the organization back up to full capacity within 24 hours or less, there will also be a need for a BCP, a plan for how to get at least minimal functionality until full recovery is accomplished. Both plans are based on the priorities that were established during the BIA phase.
Even though the DRP and the BCP don’t have the exact same goals, they do require the same questions to be asked:
