As of this writing, macOS is used by over 15% of computers used in the world. For this reason, it is important that you have at least a basic understanding of the macOS operating system and how to conduct forensics on it. In this chapter, you will learn some history of the Mac operating system as well as some operating system basics. You will also learn some basic forensic techniques to use on an Apple device running macOS.
