It may be the case that you need to examine an Apple device, such as a MacBook, running macOS but do not have the password. It should first be remembered that accessing a computer device, without legal authorization, is a crime. So, this should only be attempted if you do, indeed, have legal authorization.
The first step is to enter Recovery mode. The MacBook must be fully powered off. Press the power and the Command + R keys simultaneously to restart the device in Recovery mode. When the Apple logo appears, let go of the Command + R. You should see something similar to FIGURE 8-7.
