Cisco LRE

Like ADSL, Cisco LRE facilitates the transport of symmetrical, bidirectional data over unshielded copper twisted-pair telephone wires originally intended for the frequency band between 300 Hz and 3.4 kHz. Cisco's development of LRE provides an extension to the IEEE 802.3ah standards. The IEEE calls the technology being defined by its task force “Ethernet in the First Mile” (EFM). The industry group promoting LRE is similarly called the Ethernet in the First Mile Alliance (EFMA).
