CEMF autodiscovery examines the network for IP and SNMP devices and creates a managed object for each new device discovered.
Three mechanisms for autodiscovery are
IP and SNMP
As you probably know, autodiscovery is efficient at reducing labor.
Suppose that a Cisco 6xxx detected during autodiscovery and an object representing the chassis have been created and placed under the site where autodiscovery was launched.
When autodiscovery is launched from a site object, the process automatically populates the Physical view. When autodiscovery is selected from any other object, you must select the physical containment required.
