Basic Network Security

Basic network security in the DSL environment includes industry-standard techniques and protocols that are not unique to DSL. Cisco IOS Software enables several security features, including ACLs for packet filtering, router authentication, network address translation (NAT), and choices of security standards such as RADIUS and TACACS. These features are the building blocks of DSL network security.
