120 Exposure-Response Modeling: Methods and Practical Implementation
5.4 Multiple TT E and competing r isks
Often multiple events such as adverse e vents of different types and death
can happen to the same subject. To model the exposure–risk relationship for
multiple events, a number of issues should be considered. These include the
correlation b etween the risks of different events, termination of other events
due to one event (e.g., death), and the change of exposure due to the occur-
rence of an event (e.g., AE leading to dose reduction). Andersen and Keiding
(2002) give a short review of multistate mode ls.
