When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
How it works...
The form design here is just like the other forms, and much simpler than the Details Master and Transaction patterns. The clever part of this is that we are thinking in the form of the task at hand. We are creating a workspace based on what the user does. The traditional form design from Dynamics AX 2012 provided all the features that the user could want, which resulted in a lot of features that most users never used. With workspaces, the concept is that most of the workspace is used regularly. The user shouldn't have to change workspaces to locate a form for that task. It is also OK for a user to use more than one workspace. We want to provide everything the user needs, but without clutter.
