I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
How it works...
Deploying packages is performed by a PowerShell script on the target server. Agents that have been installed on LCS-deployed servers allow LCS to perform this task.
The process for this is as follows:
- Download the deployable package to the target server or servers (the test and production environments have multiple servers and the components that are installed on each may vary).
- Extract the deployable package.
- Apply the update to the server using the PowerShell scripts included in the package.
- At the end of the process, the servers' services are restarted.
This process is best used (and is, in fact, mandatory) to apply updates to customer implementation environments. You can't apply an update to production servers that haven't ...
