(Liu etal. 2009). Current practice often requires anesthesiologists to divert their gaze
to monitor elsewhere in the room, which reduces the speed at which dangerous situ-
ations are detected and corrected.
With more case studies showing the advantages of HMDs in the workplace,
industry has shown a steady interest in the technology. From the mid-1990s to after
