Personal visits to donors are important for a couple of reasons. First, nothing beats good, old-fashioned, face-to-face contact for building relationships. Second, people find it hard to turn down someone who’s looking them in the eyes. Try out some of the lines in this chapter (or your own versions of them) the next time you meet your donor face to face.

Tip Keep in mind that face-to-face contact also includes video meetings on Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and other virtual meeting platforms. The impact is the same. We’ve all been through some precarious years when meeting face to face wasn’t good for our health. So everyone, including donors, is copacetic with video meetings.
