You need to think of multiple ways to let people know about your green

computing initiative. You should plan around:

1. What you need people to do. (This is question #1.)

2. What you want people to know. (Especially where information is needed

to support action.)

3. Who has to know the information to do their jobs.

4. Who are key influencers who you want to know about the initiative.

5. Who are the people immediately around the influencers.

6. Who is “everyone else.”

Then think about how you’ll reach these audiences. Techniques include:

• Including people in the planning process

• Personal meetings

• Direct emails (to people by name, rather than internal mailing lists)
