Many employees, at my workplace and in many others, have their laptops

in a holder that puts them in a strange-looking, wide-open, upright position,

so the screen is at eye level, but the keyboard is nearly unusable. A separate

keyboard is plugged into the base station for desktop use; some people also use

a mouse. When the laptop goes with the employee, the laptop keyboard and

trackpad are used.
