considered as the heat pipe is selected. The following steps are recommended in
order to select a heat pipe:
1. Determine the heat dissipation from the heat source.
2. If the heat pipe is used to transport heat from one to another location in a
system, identify location of the heat source (heat pipe evaporator) and pos-
sible locations for the heat sink (heat pipe condenser). It is always better to
have a shorter heat pipe, to minimize operation against gravity, to avoid
attening, and to minimize number and angle of bends.
