So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Chapter 16 Incorporating Audio and Video
To optimize the microphone recording level in Microsoft Windows
On the Start menu, click Control Panel.
Do one of the following:
If Control Panel is in Category view (blue background), click Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices, and then click Speech.
If Control Panel is in Classic view (white background), double-click Speech.
In the Speech Properties dialog box, click Configure Microphone to start the Microphone Wizard.
On the Welcome page, click Next to continue.
Read the sentence shown on the Adjust Volume page in a normal tone of voice until the message "Your microphone volume level is now tuned to your voice" appears in the dialog box, and then click Next.
