As I work with clients on how to lead their team in first 100 days, I notice that often one of the first things a newly appointed leader has to do is deal with their predecessor. It is surprising to me that corporations seem reluctant or unable to appropriately manage and handle the situation of what to do with the predecessor, and it is not that unusual if he or she is sitting in your chair in your office when you turn up!
