Using AWS Step Functions as an Orchestrator

Now, we will move on and take a look at another service that has recently entered the AWS ecosystem. In AWS Step Functions, you can build state machines that provide the next layer of integration on top of Lambda. State machines are an excellent way to orchestrate the flow of entire serverless applications. The state can be externalized from our compute layer and tracked throughout its life cycle. When your workflow requirements are more complex than what a single Lambda function can provide by itself, look to Step Functions.
