Databases

In the Glue data catalog context, a database is a logical abstraction that allows you to group the metadata tables for organization. It helps you set boundaries around grouping files in a bucket, for example, or logically group data that should be seen as a single dataset. Let's get started:

  1. Click on Database and then click on the Add database button.
  1. Choose a database name, weather, add an optional description like the following, and hit Create. This will create a database for our tables:
