Summary

This concludes our chapter on chatbots, where we learned about two common use cases. In the first use case, we created a bot using Amazon Lex, which uses artificial intelligence to provide natural language understanding. This experience was very conversational and with the comprehensive dialog model, it was easy to see just how extensible the Lex platform is.

The second use case showed us how we can automate command-type tasks using a bot to gather facts or perform actions. Integrating this type of bot into our current ways of working is really useful but does require more programming to get right.

In the next chapter, we will explore another set of serverless components that have redefined how we host static web applications.
