Kinesis streams
Kinesis is one of the Amazon AWS services for continuous delivery and storage of streaming data. It somewhat overlaps with SQS (JMS interface) in the sense that it transports messages from source to destination, but there are differences between the two with regard to message ordering, dynamic scaling and retention. Kinesis is more targeted at big data processing and analytics use cases and in that regard comparable to Kafka, although benchmarks have shown that Kafka, at similar cost, can achieve higher throughput and, unlike Kinesis with its default 24 hours retention period, does not place any such limitation and is designed to keep large volumes of logs for a long time.
