There could be millions of windows or window/key pairs at a time (see the following section for watermark and allowed lateness to limit the number of windows in the state of the operator). How the state is stored and checkpointed is likely to be the most important factor for performance. Apex provides two types of state storage. These are In-Memory Windowed Storage and Spillable Windowed Storage:
