It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Window propagation
Sometimes, an application developer may want to have a series of windowed transformations that use the same windowing scheme. WindowedOperator allows chaining of multiple instances of the operator and has only the most upstream instance assign the windows that all downstream instances inherit. This is called Window Propagation.
