It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Windowing
When a tuple arrives, it is assigned to one or more windows, so that aggregation and processing can be done per window. Unlike streaming windows, which are based on ingression time, windows in the WindowedOperator are based on event time, with the exception of Global Window.
