It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
File writer
The job of the file output operators (subclasses of AbstractFileOutputOperator) is to write results of the processing pipelines to files, based on the Hadoop filesystem abstraction. The operator is feature rich and battle hardened, one of the most used operators in the library. It supports:
- Output of tuples to one or multiple files (output file can be selected on a per record basis for logical output partitioning).
- Exactly-once results.
- Partitioning of the writer is supported, each partition writes to separate part files with unique names.
