Motivation for using the init script

The init script and the alias commands that it provides has one purpose:

To make building and running our Go apps easy.

Managing dependencies (third-party packages) can be a pain. Import statements can be too long for our local source files. Always keeping our GOPATH, GOBIN, PATH, and so on up to date can also be a pain.

I created the init script to simplify the process of building and running the example apps in this book. I found it so useful that I use it for other projects too. I hope it works well for you, too.
