Let's break each part down to get a firm grasp of the breadth of our problem:

If the WHY is the motivation for building your application, then the HOW describes how our application is better, and the WHAT is our end product/application.
The HOW relates to how we, as humans, reason. This is the realm of the Category Theory.
The WHAT pertains to the specifics of what it is. This is the realm of mathematics and computation. We will use algebra to help define the WHAT. Later, we'll see that our work in algebra is directly transferable to functional programming.
