Spread Spectrum A radio technology that refers to a security technique. Spread spectrum
transmission camouflages data by mixing signals with a pseudonoise (PN) pattern and trans-
mitting the real signal with the PN pattern. The transmission signal is spread over a range of the
frequencies in the radio spectrum.
