Another way to look at different types of model is their exibility. Static models
do not change. They provide a snapshot of an object. Comparative models allow the
observation of an object for a longer period of time and enable a comparison to some
static model or state. Dynamic models are in interaction with the environment and
allow observation of how to change the object of observation and how to develop the
model itself (McGarvey and Hannon 2004). Clearly, dynamic models of organiza-
tional resources are the ones that organizations want to have, since they support the
