context of simple systems with very few attributes.
In this chapter, general theories for rough-set and Bayes’ methods were
presented. These theories were illustrated and applied to a number of practi-
cal applications including an automobiles dataset, a contact lens dataset, and
a welding parameters dataset. Through the application of these methods, a
number of useful decision rules were generated from each dataset. These
rules can be used for classification purposes in each domain. The validity of
the generated rules can be checked by comparing the rules generated by
both the Bayesian approach and the rough-set approach. The chapter con-
