In many cases, you may need to place a 2D object to be extruded on top of another existing object. To do this, you can move and rotate the UCS as shown in the previous sub-sections, or you can just align it with the desired object in one step.
You can do this by using the button called Object, found in the Coordinates panel as shown in the following figure:

To align the UCS you simply click on the Object button, then select the object you want to align the UCS to. This command can be used, for example, to align the UCS to a corner of a cube, ...
