The Sims
Another great example of crowd interaction can be found in the real-life simulator game, The Sims. Once again we are mentioning this game because it shaped the way developers create their games, and in terms of AI, they have contributed a lot about it.
Non-playable characters do not mean that they simply need to be in idle position, waiting for something to happen. Here we can see that all the characters have unique personalities and that they interact with each other. Even if the player sets aside the controller and just watches the game, there will be many interesting things going on, and all of that comes from the AI characters:
