Connie Dabate was found dead with a gunshot wound; her husband, Richard Dabate, was found by police partially bound.

His claims about the specific timing of events were refuted by investigators' examination of his wife's fitbit; it showed she was active and walking (recording steps) an hour after he claimed his wife was murdered.
