関数やクラス定義の内部ではなく、モジュールのトップレベルで代入された変数は、グローバル
変数となります。関数内で代入したローカル変数は、関数の内部でのみ参照できますが、グローバ
ル変数は、モジュール内ならどこからでも参照できます。
spam = 100 # spam
はグローバル変数
def ham():
egg = 200 # egg
はローカル変数
return spam + egg #
グローバル変数

は関数内で参照できる
関数内で代入した変数は、ローカル変数となります。これは、モジュールに同じ名前のグローバ
ル変数があっても変わりません。
spam = 100 # spam
はグローバル変数

spam = 200 # spam
はローカル変数
関数

内では
spam
という名前の変数に値を代入しています。このように、関数の内部で代
入した変数は、関数内でのみ有効な、ローカル変数となります。この場合は新しく

という名
前のローカル変数が作成され、グローバル変数の

の値は変更されません。
関数内でグローバル変数に値を設定するときには、
global
文で、変数名をグローバル変数とし
て宣言します。
