無限大の値との演算などで、結果が非数(
Not A Number: NaN
)という値になる場合がありま
す。非数は、本来演算を行なってはならない、不正な値の演算が行われたことを示す値で、非数の
浮動小数点数は、出力すると数字ではなく、
'nan'
という文字列で表示されます。
>>> 0 * 1e1000 # 0
と
無限大の乗算は非数となる

の浮動小数点数は、
float()
の引数に文字列
'nan'
や
'inf'
を指定して呼び出し
て作成します。
>>> float('nan') #
