Robert K. Cooper, in his book The Other 90%: How to Unlock Your Vast Untapped Potential for Leadership and Life (Three Rivers Press, 2001) describes research showing that humans use not 10 percent, not 1 percent, not even 1/10th of a percent of our capabilities—we access only one-ten-thousandth of a percent of our potential! This is because the same mechanism that kept our ancestors safe from the sabertooth tiger still lives deep within our brain's amygdala.
