Video Teleconferencing
Telecommuters can use a SOHO LAN to perform collaborative work and video teleconferencing. This is not the same video teleconferencing that would be delivered by a special video teleconferencing facility. It is video teleconferencing and remote collaboration using PC hosts, the SOHO LAN, and RAS and VPN connections.
PC Components
Simple videoconferencing over a SOHO LAN requires a Web camera and Microsoft's NetMeeting software. The Web camera provides both the video and audio input for NetMeeting. NetMeeting establishes connections with other PCs running NetMeeting software, provides video teleconferencing capabilities, and supports collaboration among NetMeeting users.
