It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Summary
This chapter has discussed VoIP network application configurations and VoIP network components. We examined simple home-office configurations aimed at reducing long-distance telephone costs. These can be quite cost effective when many long-distance and international calls are placed. Otherwise the capital recovery may occur over an extended time period. We also looked at small-office VoIP configurations. They provide a centralized telephone system for an enterprise with many remotely located personnel. With VoIP telephony all VoIP phones attach to a central VoIP PBX as though they were located in a single facility. This has special appeal for call center operations.
